“When someone is so active, they are bound to get sick,” was the comment my lesbian doctor made to me earlier in the week. She prescribed some antibiotics for my chronic cold. I discussed the episode with my urban family and was surprised by their views on sexual promiscuity. Even for gay men, some of their views were reeking of conservatism. It got me thinking, when did SLUT become a four letter word?
In life, we encourage large number of life experiences. It is great if you travel to a lot of countries, experience different cousine and even better if you speak a lot of languages. Gay men change jobs, careers and cars almost every six months but if you have a lot of great sexual experiences….then you are a slut.
