CBD oil is removed from the hemp plant, which in addition to cannabis, is a member of the cannabis household. While cannabis has high degrees of the cannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), hemp has very low degrees and also is higher in the cannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD). The hemp plant then undergoes an extraction procedure in order to develop CBD oil, normally containing just trace amounts of THC.
